Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Saturday, 19. December 2009
Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers in the world. While betting on online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He often participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.
Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on online poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
