No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Thursday, 4. May 2017
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from others kill his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his success. He knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Even though Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a regular basis.
