No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup anything he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the negative feedback from other people kill his goal of becoming one of the best poker players in the world.

Phil started competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning experience and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an undying passion for poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
