Poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the other gamblers attain five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or accede. The call bet’s value is on same level to your beginning wager, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes instantaneously to the house. After the bet comes the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, including an amount in accordance with the original bet. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pays out money even with your wager and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
