Internet poker has become world famous recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the croupier declares "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other players receive 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you need to either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is akin to your original wager, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes immediately to the bank. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus a figure equal to the original bet. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The bank pays out money equal to your ante and set odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
